A company in Metriks is the workspace that holds all your data — invoices, customers, products, sources, destinations, team members, and dashboards. Deleting a company permanently removes the workspace and everything in it. This guide walks through who can do it, what disappears, and how to do it safely.
Deleting a company is irreversible — there is no soft-delete and no built-in restore. If there's any chance you'll want the data later, export it first (see below) or simply disable the sources and leave the workspace dormant.
Only users with the Super Admin role can delete a company. Admin, Support, Billing, and Observer roles do not see the Delete Company button. If you're not a Super Admin, ask one on your team to do the deletion, or have them promote you first under Settings → Team.
- Disable each source instead. Open the source settings dialog and toggle Source enabled off. Syncs and processing pause; the data stays available for reference; you can re-enable any time.
- Pause your subscription. Billing changes are support-driven today — email support@metriks.dk if the goal is to stop paying rather than delete the workspace.
- Hand over admin instead of deleting. If you're personally leaving but the company carries on, promote another teammate to Super Admin under Settings → Team and step down — your data and dashboards stay intact for them.
Once the workspace is deleted there is no way to retrieve the data. Before you delete, pull copies of what you might want to reference later:
- Invoices — open Invoices, use the download button, and pick Excel or CSV. Captures every line, customer reference and metadata.
- Customers — open Customers, then export. Captures the full customer list with status, MRR, contract values and contact details.
- Dashboard snapshots — for board reports you want to keep, take screenshots of the key charts and save them locally. Charts are easier to revisit than re-derived numbers.
- Open Settings → Company.
- Scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom of the page.
- Click Delete Company.
- In the confirmation dialog, type the exact company name to confirm. This guards against accidental clicks.
- Click Delete. The workspace is wiped and you're redirected.
If your Metriks account is a member of other workspaces, you'll be switched to one of them automatically. If this was your only workspace, you'll be sent to the profile page, where you can create a new workspace or join another one.
- All invoices, customers, products, contracts tied to the workspace.
- All source and destination configurations, including any OAuth tokens we hold for e-conomic. Your e-conomic agreement itself is untouched — we never write to it during the deletion.
- All team members' access to this workspace. Their Metriks accounts still exist (they may be members of other workspaces), but they no longer see this one.
- Activity logs and notifications tied to the workspace.
Danish and EU accounting law (bogføringsloven) requires us to retain certain billing records for up to 5 years. After deletion we keep, in cold storage that no longer feeds the product:
- Metriks invoices issued to you (the bills we sent you) — these are our own accounting records, not yours, and are required for our books.
- Aggregate, anonymous usage logs for capacity planning. No identifying data.
We do not retain your invoice and customer data after deletion — those are deleted along with the workspace. See our Data Processing Agreement for the full retention policy.
A company is the workspace. Your Metriks user account is separate — you can be a member of multiple workspaces. Deleting a company does not delete your user account. To delete the user account, see Deleting your account.
